When God calls us to a task, we tend to first look around at what we lack, rather than look up to Him for provision. In a display of His supernatural provision, Jesus feeds 5,000 men by breaking “only” five loaves and two fishes. It’s easy to look at the “only” in what we see or have, and miss what is available to us through Jesus. It’s not about what we can do with what we have—but Who we know and what He can do through us.
Palm Sunday providentially happened on lamb selection day in Israel
What is known as Palm Sunday, the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem while the crowd praised His worthiness, occurred on Israel’s “lamb selection day.” God was working His plan for the salvation of man, even though the crowd was oblivious to what was right in front of them. That is, the true fulfillment of the Passover Lamb was in Jesus of Nazareth.
